Class Action received many great Research Triangle area nominations for the Cross-Class Bridge Builder award to organizations who:
- actively pursue participation by people of diverse classes and races
- raise the voices and support the leadership of working class and poor people
- have an organizational culture that draws on the strengths of all class cultures
Voting has ended for the Research Triangle area nominees. Please join us on June 18th at the Regulator Book Show where we will be presenting the award to the winner. We also have a few slots left for our Bridging Activist Class Cultures and Talk Class: Make Change workshops on June 19th in Durham.
Congratulations to all of our nominees!
About Missing Class
Compellingly written for both activists and social scientists, Missing Class describes class differences in paths to activism, attitudes towards leadership, methods of conflict resolution, ways of using language, diversity practices, use of humor, methods of recruiting, and group process preferences.
Too often, we miss class. Missing Class makes a persuasive case that seeing class culture differences could enable activists to strengthen their own groups and build more durable cross-class alliances for social justice. More about the Book.
